"Your program has really ignited a creative torch in our house. We are painting, drawing lots, reading a lot more books then before and I am starting to think of fun outings for Ella - like seeing the horse and foal.
I am glad that we kept going cause Ella is now fantastic with other kids. "
Courtney and Angus ( 19 months)
In May 2009 we welcomed our beautiful little man Angus into the world. At the age of 6 weeks we enrolled in the bootkidz baby program. At this point in time I was going once a week for the social aspect and in hope that other mums exercising would give me that extra push to lose my baby belly. We were always made aware of the benefits of exercising with our babies and making our babies feel safe and comfortable. The classes from very early on focused on positive reinforcement and following your babies cues. There were a few times we did activities with our babies that I thought were way beyond them and that they wouldn’t understand and we were just wasting our time. It is now 17 months on from our first class I can definitely say I was wrong!
Now at 19 months of age we look forward to our Wednesday classes and the change I have seen in Angus is AMAZING! He is a confident child who is able to express his emotions and desires. He communicates well for his age and is so loving and affectionate to other children in the class. He is now able to explore engage in activities while I exercise. The homework every week gives us the push to be creative and take some time out together to make a mess.
I couldn’t recommend Bootkidz enough to other parents. Brodie is always working on ways to incorporate the babies current interests in the classes and always keeps them stimulated. I contemplated leaving the classes when Angus was going through a stage where he constantly had to be held and I was unable to participate in exercise. I realise now that it was just part of his development and contributed to his sense of feeling secure and safe. I know there are other mums that may think that starting young may not make a difference to their child, but I have proof it does!

I love Kidfit as it is not just about exercise, it has such a variety of activities all rolled into one lesson. It's exercise for both the children and I, music and literacy. . Another great part of the lessons is teamwork. It is a great social outlet, to get out of the house and spend positive time with parents who have children around the same age.I have also made friends in the class who we still keep in contact with even after they have left the class. I look forward to going to kidfit and so does my daughter Amy it is our favourite day of the week.
We associate a lot of everyday activities with things we do at kidfit. Like music and exercise. I don’t know what I would have done with Amy if I hadn’t have attended Kidfit, it is a great learning environment for both parents and children. It has taught me to be more creative, more motivated to spend constructive time with my daughter, to try new things, be silly with my child without being embarrassed, I believe she has better social skills and co ordination because of attending kidfit.
Brodie is very encouraging, supportive, and very patient with all of us participating in the program. Brodie’s explanations of the activities and behaviours are good. She doesn’t just say “do this”, she says “this is what we are going to do, this is why we are doing it and this is what they might learn from it.”

Keep up you wonderful work - you are inspriational! Honestly, Ev and I have a ABC scrapbook at home. It just sits on the coffee table with a pencil case (colouring in pens, glue and scissors) with a bag of magazines and very often, we sit and flick through the mags and cut out pictures for each letter. I also make lots of home toys as I truly believe in 'connectedness' (I think it is the 'C' from FITERACY) and think that Ev takes more interest in toys that we have made/collected. And, she loves music and dancing and I think Bootkidz ignited that fire for her :-)
